review 1: Kesha is a fantastic, radical person. She has always seemed really authentic to me. And though she comes from the same producers and co-writers as a lot of other pop stars out there, she seems one of the precious few I would say really is in charge of her own image and sexuality. Let it be known that Kesha was making penis cakes long before Miley Cyrus knew what a penis was. She only WISHES she were this cool. This is a fun, quick book. It's mostly pictures, but you still manage to learn a lot about Kesha (unless you are a die-hard fan who already knows everything). For example, Kesha really was born at a party, and she doesn't know who her dad is (nor does she want to know). I want to raid Kesha's closet and let her do my hair. As a preteen I wore tons of glitter to attra... morect boys (hehe), so it's no wonder she's one of my favorite artists. Rock on, fellow K.
review 2: I've always been intrigued by Ke$ha, mostly because I wish I had the balls to wear wild makeup, glitter and big hair on a daily basis like she does. And I liked her first album. But then I saw her perform and give an interview on Conan, and I knew I wanted to learn more about her. I picked up this book hoping for a colorful back story and some juicy tour gossip. What I got was something completely different than what I was expecting, but I enjoyed it just the same.This book is less a memoir than it is a scrapbook. There are tons of photos, so if you like that sort of thing (I do), you'll like this. Ke$ha also tells lots of little anecdotes from along her journey. I would have liked more stories from her early days, but alas, the majority come from the tour for her first album.All told, Ke$ha is a solid writer with entertaining tales. I hope someday she'll write a more comprehensive memoir, because she certainly seems to have a life worth recounting. less
