review 1: I found this book really refreshing, entertaining and compelling. As someone with an autistic sibling, I read a lot I identified with. It's so rare to read a perspective on this that respects my experience. There are some of her conclusions and opinions I don't fully agree with (and some that I think are cutesily and manipulatively represented). But I overall appreciate her no-nonsense style and ability to speak strongly and convincingly about the issues she's passionate about. She's more than earned the right to. And I love reading her blog posts on HuffPo!
review 2: Broad and unfocused. The book would have been far more interesting if it had stuck to the interesting story here - the day to day challenges of raising three girls with autism. Instead you sift th... morerough chapters of the author's rants about doctors and people that bash her blog. On numerous occasions, paragraphs are repeated throughout the book. This will be one of those rare books that I DELETE from my Kindle. less
