Twittering Birds Never Fly
review 1: Kou Yoneda, your works are brilliant! Absolutely Brilliant! What I can appreciate about this manga is that it's not as cliché as some of the other Yakuza/ Japanese mafia stories floating around out there. Which is why I think this is a great Yaoi Yakuza story! The cover is so unique and eye catching, it would be almost impossible to walk into a book store and not at least look at it! The storyline is also really good and the characters are really just amazing!
review 2: A beautiful story about beautiful person. The manga itself is well-developed and interesting. I really think that even a person, who generally dislikes yaoi, should give it a try.The main character is actually my favorite character of all times. He's "twisted beyond repair", as he said himself,
... moreyet he calmly accepts everything that happened to him. Imho, he's not scared of something like death and, as you'll find out in the process of reading this masterpiece, physical and moral pain... regardless of this, even though, he probably wouldn't be considered "normal" by many, I think, he's the most unflappable, realistic and composed character there is. One more thing I love about this manga is that you don't see a simplistic idea of "boy falling in love with another boy", like in majority of BL. Here you have a storyline, which travels to Yashiro's past, in author's attempt to show the reader not just one clear picture, but many nuances, which can formulate your opinion about his surroundings, his first love and, of course, the main character himself. less
