review 1: If you are looking for your next addiction, this is it! 3 Days was fun, easy to read and well crafted. The author wove a captivating dystopian tale that kept me turning the pages and the underlying sweet romance was perfect. What would you do if the power went out and life as you knew it came to a screeching halt? Would you be able to do whatever it took to survive? Could you defy the odds and learn to adapt or would you refuse to believe the new reality and fall victim to your circumstances? That's what the young adults in this story had to face.Kara's struggle to survive while attempting to locate her lost love was believable and it didn't take long before I was cheering her along. Blaine quickly became a guy that I wanted to know more about. I was pleased as his strength... more and compassion became evident and then I couldn't get enough of him. Jared was another one of my favorite characters and seemed like the type of guy you want to know and have on your side.I have added this book to my list of favorites and eagerly await book 2 in the series. Kudos Krista Madden! I really enjoyed this book and recommend it to teens and adults alike.
review 2: By Momma-Ellen on March 9, 2013 3 Days by, Krista Madden, Bethany Beard, Jeremy Beard, and Stellar Shots Kara Laquin is teenage girl, going to school, hanging out with friends, and doing all the other normal things girls her age do. She has a group of friends that she hangs out with, but her best friend is Blaine. They see each other everyday. She loves Blaine, but has never been able to tell him her true feelings. Her life takes a sad turn when her Father gets a new job, and they have to move across the state, away from Blaine and the life she loves. Disaster strikes the year after her move. A solar flare sends the country into chaos. A letter from Blaine explains that he can only wait 3 days for her to find him. He must move on after 3 days. She begins her journey across the state, hoping to get to him in time. When I started this book I thought I was reading a 2 cookie book. It was slow getting started, and I have a hard time sometimes with books about teens. My advice is to stick with the beginning while the authors lay the ground work. Once the solar flare occurs you will not be able to put the book down. I don’t know for sure if this book is the first in a series, but I sincerely hope so! It was fantastic! I loved it. I give it 4 cookies. Give it a chance. It is a great read at a good price. You won’t be disappointed. What Does Momma Ellen Think?I give it 4 cookies. Give it a chance.
