review 1: I wanted to give this book five stars. I loved the romance between the main characters, just the right amount of ust and wondering 'is he gay or he isn't' and damn - sex was ridiculously hot! Add to that age difference and count me hooked. And that was all good up until the point where Donna demanded Trace being there while she's giving birth. I just can't wrap my head around it. Why anyone in their right mind would want their grown up brother to see them in such a moment I don't understand and never will. It's just awful. And what's the point??? Did she think he'd love this baby more if he'd see... where she's coming from? It's such a shame, cuz I really enjoyed this book and after this scene I was just shocked and couldn't quite get into the story any... moremore.
review 2: This is the first time I have read anything by Kyann Waters. I really enjoyed the May/December storyline, and her characters were very likeable and interesting. This book is a novella (about 87 pages long) so I understand the storyline has to move along quickly, but it did feel a little rushed to me. The main characters make life changing decisions within days of meeting one another. I would have liked for them to have been friends more before they immediately fall for one another, but it was still a good story and I still really enjoyed reading it.Trace left the family ranch years ago. Not wanting to feel repressed for his preference for men, he packed his things and left for the city. He never told his straight laced father he was gay and the only person in his family who knows of his homosexuality is his sister. When he gets news that his father has had a major heart attack, he returns home only to find that many things has changed. The new foreman, Nash literally takes Trace's breath away with his intense masculinity and his marboro man looks. Although, Trace senses an interest when Nash looks at him, he believes he is just wishful thinking...after all no one in po-dunk U.S.A is gay but him, right?Nash can't believe his eyes when he meets Trace for the first time. The younger man is everything Nash has always wanted...from the way Trace dresses, carries himself and his self confidence makes Nash very attracted to Trace. But, Nash and Trace must face many obstacles and their own fear of getting hurt to be together. Are there feelings strong enough to make a go of the life they long to have together? As I stated before I really enjoyed this story. I liked the secondary characters and the feeling of a family reunited after spending years apart. If you are offended by Diry Words and Explicit M/M Sex this book is not for you. less
