review 1: For me this book started very slow and remained slow until the last 100 or so pages. I like a lot of action and this just took so long to get to it. I did not feel as if the author was preaching like some of the other reviewers. I just saw it as part of the way the characters chose to live. I do not know when the author started writing the book but maybe the way the characters are written may have had something to do with the fact that Ms. Banks was dealing with a terminal illness and that is just the way her story came out. Overall I did enjoy the book and will read book 2, hopefully the next book will have an ending.
review 2: Smh... where to begin? I hate making long reviews I like to get to the point, but this book.... sheesh. Okay first off, the con
... morecept of good and evil and the whole angels and demons thing was interesting. However, I felt overwhelm with the overload of information/history lesson. It was too much at once and I felt like at times it got repetitive. I liked the characters but I felt like the story itself dragged out... a lot. I got bored with some parts and skipped through, and I even felt guilty when I tried to skim through to the good parts, as if I was ignoring a good preach or something. lol. Its funny because when Celeste and Azrael did not meet yet, I thought it was going to get even better once they linked up, but no. It was funny when they were in the supermarket but that's it. I never understood when people reviewing said they felt characters' relationships were forced, but now I do. I def feel like they were forced together, literally. Of course they would fall in love within a day, since she was who his mission was basically based on -_-. Anyway, again, my pet peeve about books, I hate when a book builds up to this great big moment or climax and it takes chapters and chapters to get there, and then finally its literally over within few pages. There is a second book but I struggled with finishing this one. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad but it wasn't good either. For me, it was one of those books where the back cover description drew me in, tried it, and moved on, kind of thing. Either way, sorry to say not even going to bother with book two, good luck to Celeste and Azrael tho :-). less

It was OK. Parts were very slow, preachy and redundant. But I liked some of it.
