review 1: Well damn, this book was so freaking hot!Cami and Ziporah have been friends since they were in college together and now share an apartment together. Ziporah loves going out and hooking up with hot guys whereas Cami tends to just keep to herself, working a lot at the bar she owns.Cami had a horrific experience at the hands of a guy she went on a date with at college and has been afraid to date anyone ever since. After talking it through with Ziporah and doing lots of research, Cami decides she wants to explore what it would be like to be with a Dom. A Dom/Sub relationship really interests her and she thinks it will help her deal with her past. Ziporah agrees to take the journey with her so that she feels comfortable with her decision. Her friends help her find the perfect ... moreguy, Evan. Not only does he want to explore this with Cami but he wants Ziporah too so it's a win win. Evan is tall, ripped and freaking gorgeous and very much attracted to both girls. He is patient and gentle, as much as a dom can be and loves giving the girls pleasure.Who knew that a microphone stand and a hitachi wand could be so much fun.I love how Evan brings Cami out of her shell into this sexual awakening of her body. He treats the girls with so much adoration and respect. This is such a hot sexy read with an unexpected conclusion that you will love!
review 2: When I first read the synopsis for Embracing the Fall by Lainey Reese, I must confess that I hesitated. I typically love ménage stories but that is when there are two men and one woman. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about two women and one man. But I loved, I mean totally loved, the other books in the New York series so I just had to give it a chance. Turns out I should never have doubted Ms. Reese because Embracing the Fall was just as emotional and moving as the rest of the books in this amazing series. One of the reasons that I love this series is because Ms. Reese is brilliant at showcasing the healing power of love. She has never done this more brilliantly than in Embracing the Fall. I found myself shedding more than a few tears as we learned about the pain that Cami and Ziporah had faced. While Cami’s was evident, Ziporah’s was no less affected. The shared tragedy had brought these two women together and created a bond that would be very difficult for a man to understand. But Master Evan isn’t just any man. I first fell in love with Evan when he appeared in Innocence Defied. If ever a man deserved a woman to love, it was Evan. But instead of the perfect woman he is introduced to two women who both appeal to him for different reasons. Separately, he would have been intrigued, but together they blew his mind. I adored the relationship he had with each woman because Evan never treated them as one unit, but as individuals.Ms. Reese tackled a difficult subject with heartbreaking realism which captivated me from the very first pages. I found myself devouring the book, completely fascinated with the burgeoning love amongst the trio. The reader was treated to so many amazing relationships from Evan with each woman to the women’s closeness. Each one was given the right amount of attention to showcase how this trio could actually work.In addition to an emotional read, we were gifted with some of the hottest sex scenes I have had the pleasure of reading. The passion set my e-reader on fire and I swear I could see smoke. The writing was so descriptive that I felt like a voyeur. And if you are turned away by the idea of two females together, don’t be. These two women are just friends who happen to love the same man.Because I am a long time fan of this series, it was wonderful to have some of the other characters from the series make an appearance. I love keeping in touch with them and seeing what they have been up to. You don’t not need to have read the other books in the series to enjoy Embracing the Fall. But having read the other books, I have a deeper understanding of Master Evan that adds another layer to my enjoyment of the book. This story was so amazing that I wish I had more than five stars to give to it. My hat is off to Ms. Reese for surprising and impressing me with this book. I promise that I will never doubt her again. less
