review 1: Every American should read this book. Anyone that thinks the USA was wrong to drop the atomic bombs on Japan needs to read this book. After reading this book I fully understand that the Japanese would have fought until every man, woman and child was killed by Allied forces if the USA had to invade Japan. I has brought to tears when I read about the unspeakable treatment suffered by American service men and other POWs at the hands of the Japanese.
