Take Heart
review 1: This was a pretty good read. Chase and Mia meet and it's like the world stops turning. Mia is a bit gun shy. He has just moved to Texas and likes to hide her feelings. Chase tries to break through. I did get a bit upset at Mia because she wanted to handle everything by herself. She forgot that she had two best friends and the love of her life to lean on. I hate when people try to handle everything on their own. People need people!! She is a lucky girl that Chase didn't say the heck with it and move on. Dual point of view. No cliffhanger.
review 2: From my amazon review: This debut novel by Lauren Smith is sweet, funny and sexy! Chase Williams is a swoon-worthy, tattooed hottie with a big ol' heart. He meets Mia, a strong, independent, quick-witted girl
... more who is a little jaded and guarded from dealing with life's hardships at the hands of an alcoholic mother. I loved their sarcastic banter and their fierce pull to each other. But what I probably loved most about this book is that they're not far-fetched characters living outrageous lives, with over the top good looks and issues that only could be dreamt up in a NA/romance novel. Take Heart is like watching friends in your circle fall in love and grow together.I would have liked to have had more pages to read, to crawl into their minds for more! less
