review 1: I have read others of this family of Linda Lael Miller's series. This one like so many of hers was a let down. With a little work this story could have been fleshed out and expanded on. There was some action but it ended so abruptly, I kept asking myself is this how it really ends? I have read the other ones for this family and they were ok. A woman twice burned by the same man, is not going to immediately fall into bed with that man no matter how much she loves him. I have almost given up on this author, but I like some of her other series. If you want a quick read (I read this in under two hours) feel free, but if you want something with some substance bypass this book.
review 2: Goodreads should have a steaminess rating for romance novels. This one wou... moreld be a 5/5. I was going to pass the book on to my mom or grandma but to be honest it makes me squeamish to think about them reading certain scenes. Also this may be an odd comment but I liked how even though this is a romance novel the main characters points out the leading man is the only person she has ever been "intimate" with. Sometimes romance novels don't always have role model leading ladies. It's nice to know (even though it's fiction) that you can have a steamy lasting relationship with just one guy. Wait, does that count as a spoiler? Come on, it's a romance novel, of course it has a happy ending. less
