review 1: I really liked the witches storyline, especially that it was near Salem and mentioned Ipswich, but wasn't actually focused on that story at all. At times the writing jarred me with little things, but never enough to make me think about stopping- I HAD to know what was going on for the entire story. There was a nice clean ending, to which I wouldn't mind a sequel but I was satasfied enough with the closure given to leave it as a stand-alone. I recommend this to YA fans paranormal romance, who like witchcraft and past lifetime themes. It actually kind of reminded me of the show Witches of East End.
review 2: I wanted to preview this book as a possible addition to my classroom library. I'm always looking for current novels to hook my high school readers. This is o... morene I will be recommending to my students. The suspense, romance, unexpected twists and turns, and touches of spooky overtones are just the sort of thing to hook YA readers. It's also a great stand alone story, which is perfect for students not looking to invest in a trilogy. less
