review 1: Whew!! I was just taken on a ride that will full of angst ups and downs. My emotions were all over the place while reading this book. I was so mad at both characters. This is a story about Janie and Max. They are friends who see each other every Thursday night at a bar. Finally, they decide to take their relationship from friendship to something more. That is when all of the angst begins. There are multiple characters in this book that you know you will see in more of the books from this series. There are wonderful friendships and a lot of honest moments. Thank goodness for dual point of view so that I didn't get too upset at Janie and Max. They sure do heat up the sheets, but man can they be dopes about feelings. No cliffhanger, but this is the first book of a ... moreseries.
review 2: I read this book in August of last year. I am reading it again because I bought the second one. I reviewed it on Amazon and then there were several grammar errors, but they must have been fixed because I didn't see any. Janie and Max have been friends for months. Janie is a teacher and Max works at the bar her and her best friend go to on Thursday nights. When they decide to sleep together, it is earth shattering. But Max gets scared because he has been hurt before and believes he has his heart locked up tight. Janie just wants to be loved and starts to fall for Max but he tries to push her away. When he finds out she's dating someone else, that's when he looks deep inside and learns to forgive himself and can't let her go.Fantastic story, lovable characters, hot sex, and friends. less
