'Tis the season for mischief and matchmaking!A FAMILY FOR CHRISTMAS by Jean BrashearNASCAR crew chief Gib Cameron gets a crash course in life... more's little surprises when he sees his first love, Cassie Wheeler. Just what--or who--has she been keeping under wraps? All of the main characters are believable, lovable, memorable. With christmas mixed in, how can you go wrong. I've read the 1st 2 authors before but the last 2... this is a first. They were all enjoyable. The story line flowed well in each. NASCAR ran thru them all, and made it that much more interesting. 5 stars!
review 2: A NASCAR Holiday 3 an anthology by multi authorsHave a Beachy Little Christmas by Liz Allison & Wendy EtheringtonI thought this was a cute little novella. It is a story about two people, Tiffany Mc Millan and Jesse Harwood, together that had crushes on each other in high school. It is now 10 years later and Jesse has been working for Tiffany’s father for a number of years. Jesse always gives Tiffany a hard time in order to cover up his “teenage crush” feelings still. Tiffany does her best to ignore him and not drool over him when she remembers what a “bad boy” he was in high school and why he ignored her throughout their high school years. Was it all just a crush, or could there really be something to it… They are in a tropical paradise and decide to see if fantasy lives up to reality…Winning the Race by Brenda Jackson You know what they say about “good intentions”… this story is sort of based on that. Myles Joseph and Lisa St Clair dated exclusively through high school and then when Lisa is expecting an engagement ring, she gets a good-bye instead. Lisa is baffled and hurt by this turn of events and hasn’t seen Myles since that fateful event. Fast forward five years and Myles is back in town for his best friend’s Christmas wedding as best man. Lisa is the maid of honor at the same wedding, since the bride is Lisa’s best friend. Lisa sees Myles across the church where they are all gathered for the rehearsal. Old feelings surface for both of them. Lisa wonders how she’ll make it through the wedding without letting Myles know how much he still affects her. Each wonders if the other still has feelings for them. Will the two of them be able to reconcile? It is the season for miracles….All They Want for Christmas by Marisa Carroll A single mother and her teenage son run the family camp grounds in Michigan. An ice storm the night before Thanksgiving forces a widowed father and his pre-teen daughter, riding in an RV, to get off the treacherous roads. A chance stop at a small grocery store brings these four people together. Trace Collier and his, certified genius, daughter, Annie, are heading to Ann Arbor, Michigan when an ice storm threatens their safety. They decide to pull in at a grocery store, on the evening before Thanksgiving, to see if anyone there can tell them if there is anywhere they can stay in the area that will take an RV. By chance, Carrie Ferrell and her son, Josh, stopped into the same grocery store to pick-up her pie order. The owner of the store was telling Trace and Annie about Carrie’s camp grounds area just down the road. And so the story begins…A Family For Christmas by Jean Brasher Gib Cameron, a crew chief in NASCAR, heads home for the holidays to visit his favorite aunt and uncle. Gib hasn’t been home in 13 years, since leaving right after high school to pursue his NASCAR dream. His high school sweetheart was supposed to follow after him, once she graduated, but Cassie Wheeler had broken Gib’s heart instead. Now, a chance encounter with a young fan in his hometown has Gib meeting Cassie for the first time since he left. Cassie is stunned to see Gib. She has three youngsters in tow as well as her 12 year-old daughter Molly, one of Gib’s biggest fans. Gib can’t get Cassie out of his mind and bombards his Aunt with questions about her. Determined to finally have it out with her, Gib heads over to Cassie’s home, hopefully to find out why? What he finds isn’t what he expected. He learns from Molly that Cassie opened her heart and her home to children that no one wanted and has adopted all but one, and she is hoping to scrape enough funds together to hopefully adopt her last foster child. Does Gib ever get to find out why Cassie broke it off with him or will circumstances keep them apart again? less
