review 1: (3.5 Stars)I won't lie. "Space Junque" is a rather strange Sci Fi read that has potential. I first stumbled upon this book because several of my Goodreads friends have read it. What makes this book strange and the reason for my rating is that the author's use of so many acronyms, many without explanation. After you get about 40% into the read things slowly begin making sense. In an dystopian future eccoterrorist known as DOGS wage war against the government and its people by using nuclear bombs. Char has been grieving themself her boyfriend for years by keeping herself away from everyone she knows. However, when she get a frantic order from Mike, her twin sister's fiancee, she follows his request and attempts to board a transport off the planet. Before she can board, the tr... moreansport us attacked and she is shuttled aboard the Space Junque manned by one sexy pilot named, Jake.Soon Char meets up with Mike and a bevy of unusual characters until they are under attack again. Then, the strangest thing happens, nine little girls board the transport carrying tales of a goddess who will change their future. Life as Char once believed no longer exists and she has to come to grips with the fact God's do exist. As I stated earlier, this is a rather strange read but if you can get through the cryptic beginning you will discover a rather interesting read. I am off to read book two in hopes that it will be less cryptic and more entertaining.
review 2: I need a 2.5 star. I think I liked it so its getting a 3 start. It was interesting, the writing wasn't all that fantastic, but the story was interesting enough for me to finish it in 2 hours. There really isn't a lead up to the story of who who is or any of that. Or getting to know the characters you're just kinda thrown into it head first. Which is kinda neat and I did like that. So the world is in Peril, women are no longer fertile or those that are belong to the Emperor. Char is leaving Earth per the persuasion of Mike, things blow up, people die, sex is attempted and failed, get to the station. Earth is toxic. Political ramping up, Sex happens, Goddesses mark their chosen, murder is committed, and the fertile girls are now living in a safe place. And this is only a minimum of what happens in 99 pages. The story is random, but intriguing, I think I'll check out book 2. less
