review 1: I am addicted to this Author, and it is only my second book! I can fully understand why she has so many awards under her belt, a very talented writer, and I imagine a total scream with her personality. I really liked the little witty definitions beginning each chapter. The humor within a really touching, tender story that can bring a tear to your eye is a very special talent. I felt like I actually followed the characters lives, and became emotionally invested in the out come, it just absolutely sucked me in. The pacing, the dialogue and the setting where just perfect and really in sync. I think it has spoiled me for a lot of other stories, because this is an author who definitely ranks in my top 5. AMAZING storyteller, fantastic writer.
review 2: This is a typ
... moreical romance story. Handsome, wealthy, single playboy hires secretly gorgeous (but currently frumpy), inexperienced woman as his secretary. He can't figure out why but he wants her. She falls in love with him but doesn't want to be a part of his playboy ways. Obviously, there's a HEA in there when he comes to his sense. The ways that this wasn't a typical romance is that they have sex relatively quickly into the book, and then there's a weird hang up of his about a 3 some from college... Quite honestly, after reading this one and the other book in the series, The Naughty Never Die, back to back, I have to wonder what message the author is trying to get across. Clearly she has issues with a group sex type situation, which is fine - I don't judge if you do or don't- but...why write about this issue in both books? That's just odd to me. Also, her villain in both books is an over the top slutty woman who seems to have a sex addiction. So again, the author seems to have some latent anger towards promiscuous women/people who engage in sexual activity/relationship involving more than one partner at a time. It just struck me as a really odd theme to put in your books.Aside from the romance and the heroine blossoming and learning to like her body, there really wasn't much of a plot. It's entertaining enough and and easy read, but kind of lack luster. less
