review 1: A fun, short romance that I read in an afternoon (Heavy emphasis on "short"--the ending was very abrupt! Felt like I was missing part of the book...). It's the first in a series, although from the teaser, it looks like the other books center on some of the secondary characters, rather than continuing the romance of the two leads from this book, so I'm not sure if I'll read the next one. Also, Kindle issues again....it seems like every book I've read on my Kindle has serious editing issues! Am I alone in this, or is this really THAT common? This one had weird spacing--there was a double space between paragraphs...but then sometimes randomly, there would be double spaces between lines of print in the same paragraph. Made reading a bit difficult at times! And yes, I'm g... moreoing to nitpick: the main female character, Alyssa, inexplicably went from being a brunette to being a "dirty blonde" during the course of the book. Editing fail....ESPECIALLY when the author has made a point of having the male lead particularly say that he usually goes for blondes, but Alyssa is a brunette. And then later, after they've hooked up, she's described as flipping her dirty blonde hair over her shoulder....oops! Really thinking I should get back into the copy editing business....
review 2: A cute, little story - exactly how I like them. :)Girl meet bad-boy athlete, girl reforms said bad-boy, bad-boy athlete gets the girl he wants. The end.Seriously, other than a few editor mistakes/swapped words, this book was pretty flawless. Oh, and the use of the word "pussy" was pretty off-putting too. That word is just crude, and throws a cute story like this completely off.If you like athletes, and happy endings - this book is for you. less
