review 1: This started off really slow and a bit strange. I had a hard time telling if this book was trying to be a mystery, a romance or Christian fiction. I didn't mind the references to God, I was just suprised by them. There were a lot of characters with weird names and I had troubles telling them apart. In the first half of the book, I had absolutely zero feelings for the main character, but by the end I had warmed up to her. I will read the next one in the series.
review 2: Cate Kincaid flounders into a job as an assistant to a p.i., her uncle, and blunders around until she accidentally solves the crime. This is not bad at all! She has a certain charm; she's like a Christian version of Kinsey Milhone. There's a romance that doesn't take over the plot but adds just
... morethe right amount of interest, and it's set in one of my very favorite places, Eugene, Oregon. I liked it and will certainly read the next one in the series. less
