review 1: Great armchair adventure for a reader who loves travel. I am ready to pack my bags and leave tomorrow but I lack the money, the stamina and the courage that it takes for this couple to sell it all and just take off and see the world. I was exhausted just reading about flights of stairs to get to their rented apartments and their driving adventures seemed a little hairy for my taste. That said, I loved the descriptions of the places that they visited and I thought back to the places that I visited and that they visited and remebered the best of times. How lucky they are to have the money, the time and the physical strength to roam all over. I am envious!!
review 2: I really enjoyed this travelogue of Lynn and her husband Tim. She is an engaging writer and has p... moreainted vivid descriptions of her travels through Mexico, Argentina, Istanbul, Italy, Ireland, England and Portugal.Along the ways she gives some tips, like you should always carry a clothesline because dryers are so hard to come by abroad, repositioning cruises, use Skype for communications and always ask if you do not understand something. She was flummoxed about how she was going to press the AC button high up in the window in Argentina, until the caretaker told her to use remote!So it is combination of travelogue and tips on long term travel. Some areas that she barely touched were how to get and use local cell phones in different countries, which I find one of the biggest problems when I travel and where and how to exchange currencies, because each country has its own rules.Overall, it was an enjoyable book.
