review 1: I think that this book is good for readers. This book teaches values such as friendship skills and survival skills. Ry, the main character, shows his skills of living in a village with a few people he doesn't know. One of the guys at the village is Del, a friend of Ry. Ry and Del try to make innovative modes of transportation in order for Ry to meet his grandfather. Ry got stuck in a village since the train left him. While the train was under maintenance, Ry had to call his grandfather that he will be arriving late at the station. Since there was no signal inside the train, he jumped and ran out of the train in order to find service. He didn't realise where he was running, and the train left. This was the part I don't like about the book. Ry runs just to find service. He c... moreould've done it at the train station (destination). This is why I rate this book 3 out of 5 stars.
review 2: Some books work for some, others for others. This book was recommended by a librarian as funny, however the plot was too much of a stretch. Call the police next time you are lost and injured and have no possessions. Don't go and stay with a strange man in a strange town and then go on an unsafe road trip with the bizarre idea of bumping into your parents in the Caribbean. Not recommended - demand better from your authors. less
