review 1: Jed, a squirrel, gets scooped up by a hawk, escapes, and falls into a new territory of the forest. Jed's squirrel friends, TsTs and Chai, take off on an adventure to find him. Along the way, the three squirrels discover new squirrel species, buzzpaths, and tree-chewers. They learn that the loud tree-chewers mean trouble for their forest friends and the place they call home. Armed with information and a game plan, they bravely journey home to migrate their squirrel community to safety. A squirrelerrific tale of adventure, travel, friendship, and nuts.
review 2: Nuts to You is full of fun. The gorgeous pen and ink illustrations drawn by the author make it even more of a pleasure to read. The squirrel adventure on the buzzpath is ingenuous, the three squirrel frie... morends Chai, Ts,Ts, and Jed are loaded with delightful individual personalities. The only possible problem I found for young readers is the accents from the red squirrels. Children who aren't familiar with accents might have trouble understanding the red squirrel lingo. The message about saving trees and the environment at the end of the book was effective without being preachy. less
