review 1: Perhaps not the best jumping on point for the series, given the complexity of the setup. A near future wild west world with werewolves but no females, into which has crash landed, via timely-windy shenanigans, a plane full of modern women (no children or males surviving) takes an unusual amount of exposition for a novella. There's also a large cast, many of whom are only name checked. It's well written and enjoyable and the central romance involved is refreshingly grown-up, but it's also clearly a tie-in with important plot beats happening off screen. Much as I loved it, I'm not sure I could recommend it to new fans.

... morery. That being said it was really good. Easy writing that drew me in and pretty easy to follow. I really liked the future world it was primitive and made me grateful for the heat and working pluming that we have. I loved Connie and Des and I want to read more about the other characters. less
