review 1: I really liked this first book of Montague, it had a lot of humorous moments and I was pleasantly surprised - it's fairly quick to get through so I thought I wanted to read the next book in line.. I'm about halfway through and I must admit that it's pretty much the same as the first one - it's just new names, place and one less guy in the ménage.. However likable the characters are, they pretty much are the same in every book regardless of new plots and characters! It's sad that she use already used material because it makes the whole thing very trivial and predictable - I've since read the resume of the other books and it strikes me that it's the same as with the two first books..So, to you, future reader - just read the first one, enjoy it and leave it at that - otherwi... morese you'll likely get disappointed..
review 2: 3.5 Stars!Danika studies large animal behavior and is sent to a small mountain town to research a reported wolf attack on a local resident. She must determine whether this is a random attack or something much more deadly going on in the town. Her work is usually her priority, but things change on this assignment when five very hot, leather-clad motorcycle riders come into town. She's immediately attracted to all of them and finds it interesting that they each seem to be very attracted to her. What she doesn't know is that they are also in town regarding the wolf attack. But when they move into the cabin next to her rental, the sparks really begin to fly! She wonders which one should she chose? Or better yet, could she perhaps have them all? I enjoyed this book but there were things that didn't sit well with me. 1)Our heroine has a few moments where she displays her "alpha-female" temper, but too many moments where she's beyond clueless (aka, stupid, e.g. condom conversations) and her constant insecurities about age and physical appearance. 2)While I loved the Wolfen alphas (Balin is my favorite alpha!), I really missed the established "lead" Alpha. It is often implied that there is One who stands out above the rest, but it feels as if the author is trying almost too hard to maintain equal footing amongst the males. This was often a distraction for me throughout the story.Overall, good read with a slightly different take on the standard shifter romance story. Recommended. less
