review 1: I am a huge Sherlock fanatic. I have read multiple fanfictions, seen the characters portrayed many different ways, but none of the fics that I have read so far have been so utterly heart-wrenching. Mad_Lori's writing is simple and elegant, she can bring you to tears with just a few words. It was incredibly realistic, I can see that this would be what it would be like on-screen if it really happened. Many people believe that fanfiction is not a type of literature and they do not take it seriously, but this author has amazing talent, and this book speaks volumes about grief, acceptance, and loss. I must admit that I did indeed cry throughout almost the entire novel, so be warned. This book is a work of art and it is not to be missed in your library of fanfiction w... moreorks.
review 2: Made me weep and weep and weep.Especially when I envision Benedict and Martin in my head (as they will always represent Sherlock and Watson to me) saying those lines... chills. This is so not okay.On a review note, I love how the story wasn't overly cluttered with complex descriptions- it was already intense in its simplicity. It was real... for example, Sherlock didn't discover his illness and then get inspired to change the world hurrah hurrah- it was raw and it was simple, and it really cut deep. The dialogue was very well done too- again, it all gave me chills with how clearly I could imagine it take place, in my head.Also- I am absolutely in love with the last two sentences- amazing amazing amazing. less
