review 1: This story reminded me of when I saw Ferngully the Last Rain Forrest. Just like the fairy in Ferngully tries to save the forrest from a machine that is destroying the trees, Bob and Bub discover the Fish Stix factory where a machine is cutting down the trees. Bob and Bub try to enlist their friend Bruce only to find that he has been filming commercials for the company. When Bob wants to find out what's going on, Bub decides to stay behind with Bruce. When Bob discovers what Fish Stix is really up to, his friends don't believe him. I think we can all relate to times when friends and family won't believe us, but in the end they all work together to stop the company from destroying their island. That's teamwork!

... moreloved the first Beaver Brothers book, so I got him the second in this series for Christmas. We both agreed that the first book is better. This one is just as cute, and I really liked the idea of the environmental plot, but for some reason this one just wasn't as funny. Still, the kid really liked it (he read it over and over, read parts of aloud to me, giggled a lot while reading it) and that's saying a lot for a kid who usually claims he hates reading. less

Even better than the first one. The hapless beaver brothers are on another case.
