review 1: Not bad, but not really that good either.And nothing unique or original to add to the romance genre.The characters were likable, but average.It's hard to rate this book because it had a couple interesting parts, but mostly I was bored.This MC romance book (series so far) is like the opposite of the books written by authors like Madeline Sheehan and Kathryn Kelly.Seriously, these guys are such tame bikers that the author could just as easily plug in regular Joes as the characters.Where's the gritty drama? SPOILER ALERT!!!The author should have written a scene from Sal's point of view where he and his brothers torture and kill the villain.And give me a stronger villain! This was just some loser with a grudge against the MC because they wouldn't let him prospect. I'm surprise... mored they had so much trouble finding him. It was just him and his lame sidekick.But I supposed there are those romance readers out there who like this tame stuff where bikers are really white and blue collar workers who are in a club but don't earn their money with criminal activity.Perfect for those types of readers. I mean, the club whores don't even come into play in the story. Where's the fun in that?I'm not sure why the MC in this series even have dealings with other clubs if they aren't into running drugs, guns or anything else.This book gets 3 stars, though, because the author is a thoughtful writer and good at the technical stuff.And I do plan on reading the next book in the series because Axel and Sophia make an interesting pairing.But why does the club need Axel as an enforcer??? I hope I get to read Axel murdering people and Sophia have to deal with other woman drama. And some really good fights between the future lovers where everything isn't resolved so quickly with an apology.
review 2: I did not read the first book in this series but the second was great. Sal leaves Kat early in the book and it tears her up. She tries to move on and work through her loss but just as she is trying to move on he comes back to claim her. Sal was very possessive over Kat. Sal and Kat have issues from their past they are trying to work through. One thing Kat does not want is to make Sal feel like he has to take care of her. When her life is threatened things change for both of them. less
