review 1: I received a copy of this book through NetGalley in exchange for my unbiased and honest review. Rebecca Hales is a 17 year old with a disturbing past. Through no fault of her own, she is witness to a crime when she was younger and it made things very difficult for her. Because she testified and helped to put a very popular boy away, people now stay away from her and her life has become isolated. To make matters worse, her friend Ryan moved away. All of a sudden, there are mysterious texts on her phone. At first she tries to ignore them. But soon, her friend Ryan finds himself a suspect in a terrorist-type attack. Ryan tries to hide and Rebecca tries her best to help him. However, it is clear that they cannot keep hiding and both decide to run to Las Vegas where they feel no... more one will be able to find them. The FBI is on their trail and they do not have much time. They need to find out who is setting them up and do it fast. But what can two kids do against the might of the mighty FBI and determined bad guys? Ryan and Rebecca tries to find people who can help them but just how much can they trust others? Especially since it is clear that a policeman Rebecca thought was a friend is clearly ratting out on her. Before They Find Us is an exciting YA suspense thriller that will keep a reader engrossed. There are also exciting twists and turns which make the story much more interesting as it develops. However, there are just some parts that have gone a wee bit over being "believable" but then it is a work of fiction. All in all, a good read.
review 2: Goodreads blurb: I’m going to make you wish you were dead. Just a text. Seventeen-year-old Rebecca Hales tries not to worry. Probably a wrong number. Not really meant for her, and definitely not related to the crime she witnessed six years ago. Right? This is an excellent YA thriller!!! The lone witness to a horrific crime when she was a child, Rebecca Hales struggles with the aftermath. After testifying she is left her with nightmares that still keep her up at odd hours. Her best friend Ryan has moved away, and she is left drifting through high school while trying to come to terms with her feelings for Ryan, and a young cop. When Ryan is accused of setting a bomb at his school, Rebecca knows she must help Ryan and expose the true criminal. This book was a edge of your seat thriller for YA, and adults. Starting it made me feel like I stepped into a story that had already started, but quickly lost that feeling. I connected with all the characters, and having Las Vegas as backdrop through part of the book was a bonus for me! I recommend this book for teens and adults! less

I don't know. I just don't think it's for me or it's not the moment for me to read it.
