review 1: What a timely addition to my Kindle library! Michelle Kisner Pace and Tammy Coons have another gem hiding in their library. Located around Christmas, this is a beautiful story of love, loss, second chances and finding what you didn't know you were looking for. If you enjoyed Fury and Rage, if you've liked anything that Michelle Pace or Tammy Coons have written, you need to check this one out! I love it!!
review 2: I read this book for a RRRC group challenge where we rated based on the genre and the romance of the story. My official GR rating is 4 stars but for the rating for the challenge was 3 stars as below:Genre(romance with child) - ★★ - The child in the story was the 2 year old son of the widowed heroine and was used more as back story for the h... more and to establish the strength in her character - young(ish) woman widowed a week after the baby is born and she raises the child on her own for 2 years in Chicago before moving back home to have a better support system for her and the child - the support in this case coming from the family of her husband. So as set up for the story line, it worked well but the child played little, if any, part of the actual story. He was included in a few scenes but as a character of his own, he was not really relevant.Romance - ★★★★ - I loved the romance and the conflict. H and h reconnect after she moves back and there is lots of guilt on his part because her dead husband was not just his best friend, but H had always been in love with her. For her part, she had to move beyond the aftermath of her not-so-perfect marriage. There was also a secondary romance which took up almost as much book space as the main - but it was't intrusive and was believable on it's own as well. As a romance, I really liked this book! less
