review 1: I'm a sucker for Hitch-Hiking Across America (or anywhere else) books, so I couldn't resist this. I enjoyed this book a lot, but I'm sticking with four stars because I am questioning the authenticity of some of the events in the story. Some reviewers also complained that he wrote unkindly about some of the people he met on the road, but I can see where he couldn't possibly get along with every random stranger (kind or not). Quick, entertaining read.
review 2: The concept of going penniless across America is interesting enough that I figured I might like this book. Then I got to meet so many people (good, bad and other) and feel in love with how they made me cry, laugh, think, and smile and how the author made me feel like I was along for the ride. Not everyone
... more is a perfect, and some are even less so, but this journey reaffirmed my believe that there are more good guys than bad guys in the world, and everyone has a story. And I'm glad I got to hear these. less
