review 1: I actually really enjoyed this story although the world building at the beginning could have been more detailed. I assume we're in the future but a date is never mentioned and I'm never sure what planet we're on. There is a war going on with the "Bugs" who can come through portholes and wreak havoc. The humans are working with the Luo but we don't know how they met or how this collaboration was struck.Maybe it was the author's intention to leave a lot of blanks so that we could just go with the flow and get into the love story. Did I mention that the sex is super hot!!!The aliens (Luo) look exactly like humans except that they need to "drink" from a human's sexual energy to recharge. Lots of them also have gifts like telepathy, phasing or becoming a berserker. Malla has be... moreen trained to be a server so she can provide energy to the Luo fighters. She is also special because she is considered "elite" and has more energy reserves than most. This means she gets to come, masturbate and fuck a lot for her team of sexy aliens.I loved all 4 aliens and the characters were really well developed. Grady and Vel are lifemates and their relationship is very steamy but also extremely caring (yum...we get some M/M action too). Kal is the young rebel who lacks self-control and is always horny. Shon is the leader but also the most damaged since his gift takes over his conscience mind and acts out violently to protect his team (unless they get in the way and they might also get hurt). This constant guilt has him holding back with Malla in hopes of protecting her.All in all a very original and intriguing read with a great ending. This made it possible to overlook the confusion I felt at some point of the story.
review 2: Pretty entertaining. Four Luo troops that depend on human energy to keep them alive + one well-trained caring horny Elite "server" (said human that provides energy by unleashing it through orgasm) = a lotta hot sex. Not a bad plot at all, and this alien world was explained very well with all the concepts, definitions, and reasoning behind why things were done a certain way. The orgy scene at the end...well, I had no idea that five people could have sex together at the same time but these people made it happen and the author explained it well so you could keep track of where everyone was. Quite an emotionally bonding moment, so to speak. Decent read and kept my attention. I wish that there was more relationship development, but for the length of the book, it would have been hard to do. less
