review 1: Right at this moment, I can't think of another short story that was so well executed that, in such a compact package, managed to contain every element that makes a book a perfect read for me. Within the brevity of the story, I managed to fall in love with both main characters, get totally swept away in the romance and intense heat of Adam's first sexual experience, sympathetically feel the awkwardness and risk of expressing overwhelming emotion, and get so moved that I was actually shedding happy tears by the end.I have no complaints, nothing negative to say and no constructive criticism to dish out. Perfect.Maybe one complaint...I was left wanting more, CRAVING it...which happens to be one of the greatest compliments that I can give an author.I will definitely reasearch M... moreissy Welsh's other works, and based on this short story, happily dole out money to read more from this author.
review 2: 90% lust and 10% plotI don't know what to say in this novel. It's just nothing in there. Writing Style:I had a hard time grasping what the author wanted to do with her scenes. Narration was absent almost all the time, and I think that was the reason the novel felt empty. The words she used were not bran new to my ears, so there's no hard work involved. Pace: Super slow! The whole novel got stuck in one scene and it did not move at all until that last 3 pages. Character Development: It's hard to say that there's none. If there is, I guess I am blind. Plot: It's cliche. There's no heat in the story. What really should happen here? My verdict: Not a very good experience. Turn on the TV or the radio if you want to entertain yourself. Read the Grimm Brothers' fairy tales if you want to read something short. There's a lot of reason to find a better story than this one. less
