review 1: A good freebie. I liked the story line and the characters. Good personalities, some aggravating parts, some pesky people I definitely wanted to smack upside the head, good emotions, a happy ending and written pretty well. This was definitely a surprise for being a freebie and I enjoyed reading it. A cuddle-up, snuggle-in, grab a scoop of indulgence, one sitter that kinda felt like a chick flick. A little fun, some steaminess, with a little reality thrown in. Happy read
review 2: I don't usually post spoiler reviews but I can't think of any way to sum up my thoughts on this book without giving away some things. I'll try to keep the spoilers minimal.I want to start by saying I think this book was good. The writing is strong and I could see this author as someone ... moreI'd like to read in the future.Unfortunately, in the end the book fell flat for me because the storyline and conflict simply weren't strong enough. At no point did I ever feel the relationship between Lavender and Taylor was really in danger of falling apart. They didn't have any real test or trial to overcome. She accepted his fame in stride, wasn't fazed by the tabloid attention, never considered betraying him. She was loyal even when things got uncomfortable. He never considered really leaving her once he made up his mind. Her commitment issues were given lip-service but never really came up as a relationship problem. I spent the whole book waiting for that make-it-or-break-it moment, and it never came. In the end I felt that a lot of loose ends were left unresolved, such as who contacted the media and what was going on with her mom, and others were tied up too simply, like Grandma's change of heart and how they dealt with the media.I wanted to like this book a whole lot more than I did. I'd be willing to read more by this author, but with reservations. less
