review 1: This was a free or inexpensive kindle book that I downloaded along with some "bargains." After reading the book, the postscript referred it as a "romantic mystery." Not to be prejudicial, but this book may be targeting a more female audience (?). The mystery was mediocre and the "romance" was annoying. Spoiler: The end was anti-climatic (although the romance part tended to dwell on the none anti-climatic part (sic)). I kept waiting for a surprise or twist, but there was none. Basic plot: sadistic serial killer, detective, detective falls in love with next victim, detective kills serial killer and saves female victim, and they have sex.
review 2: I got this book as a free kindle download. It is currently at $2.99. I thought this was a great book. The story ... morestarts off creepy and intense, and maintains the pacing throughout. The main character, Meagan, was interesting and likable. There was more than one possible suspect, and I didn't know who the killer was until the end. The growing romances between Meagan and the rock star, and Meagan and Detective Thomas, were interesting and believable. One complaint I had was in the character's names. So many of the characters have a last name that is also a common first name. This caused me a little confusion at times. At one point I thought I was reading a scene between 3 people, when it was really only 2, and the author was switching between the character's first and last names. Other than that little issue, I really enjoyed the book. less
