review 1: I was gifted a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.I would like to start with the outside and work my way in. I'n not sure that I care much for this cover. I only bring it up because I read something talking about the cover being something people loved. Well not me!Now on to the important stuff. I liked the story itself. This was a fairly short read that I devoured in one sitting....then again it is after 1:00 in the morning!I'm not gonna lie...there were things here or there in this story that seemed a bit out there and not really quite believable but then again this is fiction. Other then that I enjoyed the plot, and the characters were well developed and easy to connect with. The writing was ok but there were a few missed edits here or there. This is defin... moreitely not a happy feel good sorta story but one of great pain and heartache but with a light at the end of the tunnel. There was one point in this story that I wanted to scream and smack the crap out of the hero of this story for being so stupid! Grrrrr....just thinking about it still gets to my nerves. In the end though it turned out just as it should...well....for the most part. I would have liked to see death or jail time for a certain unlikable character not just a beat down!Overall it was a good read and I enjoyed it.
review 2: *copy received in exchange for an honest review*This book was quite a disappointment for me: the blurb caught my attention but the execution was a far cry from what I was expecting. Darcie is a survivor coming from a totally messed up childhood, at the age of 14 Reggie rescues her becoming her older brother. She always refers to him as her "knight in shining harmor".The problem is that Darcie is an annoying 17 yo bordering to flat-out stupid that passes her time in fight and suspensions from school. Suddenly she decides that she's always been in love with him, an goes on throwing tantrums nod being insufferable. Reggie is a far cry from a knight in shining harmor, more of a psychopath with anger issues and murdering tendencies. The story is quite unbelievable and most of the times it appears nothing more than a series of scenes without a real logical connection between them. Also the writing wasn't very good: too minimal without a real deepness to the characters and the situations that appear to be flat at best. Sometimes it stemmed to me that the author was more concerned in hurrying to the next scene than doing well the current one. less

I give this a 3.5. I don't know if I have the heart to read the others because they seem so sad.
