review 1: Fascinating exploration of the relationships between and among U.S. Presidents -- their predecessors and successors -- beginning with Herbert Hoover's friendship with Harry Truman and culminating with the mentorships and friendships that Bush (41), Bush (43) and Clinton nurtured in their support of Barrack Obama's presidency. The book offers insights into some of the world-shaping events during my lifetime that were profoundly affected by the often quiet unassuming involvement of these former presidents. And then there was Jimmy Carter !

... morey a non fiction book, I must learn something new, and I should be given insights into things I already knew. This book did both, but to be clear, it had no real depth. In many ways it was mostly anecdotal, but nonetheless, I learned things I should have known, but did not. less
