review 1: I love how Nia is politically correct throughout this story. Just like no 2 kids are alike, no 2 adoptions are alike. We adopted 2 of 3 foster children placed with us, so admire her for choosing that route - but she's right. There are children all over the world who need families so adopting outside the US isn't so wrong. Like Nia and Ian, my husband and I are terribly immature, and our kids are silly because of it - not disrespectful, just silly, funny kids, so no worries Nia! I was blessed with 5 children, now ranging in age from 33 to 7, and still find myself on heartgalleryofamerica.org, wondering, could we take just one more? Read the story. She's funny. She's a Mom!
review 2: This was a very relatable, warm, personal story of Nia Vardalos's struggle with
... moreinfertility and then journey through adoption of her daughter. If you've seen any of her movies, you'll know what to expect. She's warm and goofy and funny, but sometimes, she goes for the laugh instead of sticking with the uncomfortable truth of a story. She looks on the bright side and wraps things up with a bow. But that's endearing, in its own way. less

One of my favorites so far. Both realistic in portraying difficulties but also hopeful.
