Come and Find Me

Plot: David and Claire live an ordinary life but that all changes when she disappears without a trace. Determined to find out what happened to her, David never stops searching and his search for the truth leads him on a very dangerous path. Did he really know Claire at all?

Year: 2016

Director: Zack Whedon

Starring: Aaron Paul, Annabelle Wallis, Garret Dillahunt and Valerie Tian.

The film has an excellent premise and sounds really promising but it lacks something. Throughout the film, we progress forward in the timeline whilst also getting flashbacks to see how these two met and got together. The characters are just a little boring. As much as Aaron Paul is a talented actor, there was just no depth to him or her. They were just a little unlikeable but that’s just my opinion.

It’s Zack Whedon’s directional debut and even though I wasn’t entirely keen I think he did an awesome job. I can’t wait to see what more he does in the future because I love his brother and I think he can be just as good.

*SPOILERS*

It turns out that their relationship has been a lie and she is not who she says she is. It’s not really a new storyline but it’s a good one if it’s executed well. I felt it was more of a romance than a thriller which is fine. I feel like it builds up momentum and then the flashbacks kick in and then it looses all its gas.

If you’re a fan of Aaron Paul then I’d say watch it but only for that reason. It’s not really a film that offers plenty of escapism.
