review 1: Loved this comic. Nick has just the right amount of cynicism and satire mixed with wry humor and a different way of looking at reality that makes his drawings hit close to home without hurting too much. The comparison between "complicated" human relationships and the simple, straightforward, loyal relationship we have with our pets (in his case, his beloved dog who died just before he published this book) implies it's better to have the latter than the former. I begged to disagree; hence, I just rated his book 4 stars instead of the 5 I so wanted to give it.
review 2: It’s a trifle of a book that I got for .99 on my Kindle. Like a cartoon version of “The Machiavellian Guide to Womanizing,” but from the perspective of both sexes. I’ll admit to laughing o... moreut loud once or twice but mostly it’s populated with quite terrible people who reduce their partners to accessories for the life they want to project to the world and who are willing to put up with monumental levels of self-regard.There. I’ve officially put more effort into this review than went into the text of the book. less
