review 1: I was never a reader. 15 years ago I picked up a book by Nora Roberts and was immediately hooked. Usually I go for Paranormal fiction but I can tell you when it comes to Nora Roberts books-I could read anything. This story was absolutely amazing. I love the characters and the story line. Abra is an inspiring woman who just makes you want to be like her. I love the role of Hester.. She's just a spitfire of a woman who I wish I could personally meet. It is just such a great story-extremely well written with amazing characters. Action, Thriller, Humor, love, romance, family, mystery, murder.. It literally has it all.
review 2: This was standard fare from Roberts. Entertaining, but nothing new here. Roberts' books (and the JD Robb ones) all follow a pretty simil... morear formula. She (or should I say they) couldn't crank them out like they do if they didn't. The story itself was rather predictable and the 'mystery' was really not the main event. I enjoyed both of the main characters, and even some of the supporting cast. The antagonists were rather tired and unimaginative however. Despite all this, it's a nice fluffy read. less
