review 1: Its been a long time since reading Norman Mailer's Tough Guys & Harlot's Ghost. I know I liked them both. I also read Windchill Summer about ten years ago, just to see if Mailer's wife was a good author in her own right. She is. This memoir was both funny and sad, honest and admirable. Along the same line as the Paris Wife & Loving Frank, it would be hard to love these womenizers, but their talents and vibrant persona make them irresistable to the women who love them
review 2: I thought that the book, written by Norman Mailer's widow, was interesting but poorly written. A self-proclaimed model, artist and writer, I certainly didn't find her prose compelling and found some of the wording to be annoying. I also hated that she referred to just about everyone
... moreas "one of her best friends." Pretty disingenuous. The subject matter and flow kept me finishing the book as I almost set it down numerous times. less

I will forever be haunted by images of Mailer's hairy body and soccerball-like stomach.

Started as a 4 then spiraled down to a 2 so I just averaged it out.

A charming, quirky memoir by Norman Mailer's widow.
