review 1: Well, if you really are interested in knowing what "Rolling on floor laughing" literally means, this is the book for you. Patras, a very educated, ambitious, witty, smart and successful man, wrote these essays during the early years of his life. They deal with his student life experiences that are painted with such vivid excellence and humor that it is impossible to hold oneself from "laughing out loud". Yeah, that exactly how funny he is. He talks about the most casual events of life, the most trivial happenings that we overlook everyday. But his humor is of such quality that it makes you just cherish each and every word of it. The best humorist in Urdu is perhaps a well suited title for Patras. review 2: A few days back when I first started this collection of... more short essays, I was mostly found rolling on the floor laughing in my room for no reason. Patras can pick up a very trite and boring topic (like the Geography of Lahore) and embellish it with such spices that one can't help reading it twice, thrice..or as many times as your literary tastes can take it. Doubtless to say, he is ranked among authors like Doughlas Adams and P.G.Wodehouse (though I'm not really sure if they were contemporaries). This book must be read by everyone who understands Urdu and good humour. Hats off to Bukhari for gifting Pakistan with such profound lasting literature ! less
