review 1: Phenomenal artwork! For that reason alone "Best Shot in the West," the story of Nat Love aka Deadwood Dick, is worth taking a gander at whether your 8 or 80. Nat's story, born into slavery, turned freedman, turned Bronc buster and cowpuncher is quite interesting. And the comic book formating, though not my forte, works well with the illustrations and seems youthful-engaging. A nice way to bring history to life for those young at heart.
review 2: What I thought of this book is that it talks a lot about how a slave became a really famous and well know man for what he did. When people would ask what his name was no one knew so they called him DEADWOOD DICK because a really famous horse man was named that so them named him DEADWOOD DICK because he was good at ridi
... moreng horses. His family and him were slaves before anything he done happened there after awhile his family was free from slavery as so as the other people there that were slaves to but the person that owned them all didn't tell them until the the slaves figured out them selfs. After they where free from slavery there family didn't have any job so they started to grow a farm for food then one there family members died his name was Sally so after that DEADWOOD DICK said to his ma that he was going to get a job and he said that once he gets enough money he would come back and thats where the journey of DEADWOOD DICK starts . less

A good format for getting readers interested in a little known figure from the Old West.
