review 1: Cute book, true story about a mom and her young daughter who set out to conquer hiking all of New Hampshires mountains that are over 4,000 feet. Peakbagging is what it's called and their goal was to hike all of them...over 45 mountains. Their tales of difficulties, wonderful adentures, some fellow hikers they meet along the way, and comments from others who don't think a child of 5 should be doing such rigorous hiking.
review 2: Tricia Herr is the mom of 2 very active girls. Her daughter, Alex decides at the tender age of 5 that she wishes to hike all the tallest peaks in New Hampshire. Mom, is eager to help Alex reach her goal and they spend the next few years doing a lot of hiking and backpacking. This memoir is a gentle and easy read. It is obvious Tricia
... more adores her daughter, and gives her just the right amount of space and freedom to reach her goals. It is an amazing tribute that teaches us all that age is just a number.... you are never too young or too old to reach for that dream and complete one's goals! less
