review 1: This is a superb book, and one of the most revealing that I've ever read in terms of understanding how my desires work before a wise and loving God. If I were to criticize it on literary terms... well, I got tired of the words "unpack" and "insanity." However, the truth of the book really did cause me to stop and reflect--like, the kind where I'm not doing so because I feel like I'm supposed to--on a number of occasions. Good stuff.
review 2: I am thankful for Tripp's work that let's me see how weak and deceived I still am over the false gods of sex and money. But I'm even more thankful for Tripp's focus upon the deep and wide flow of grace and help from Jesus that not only removes the guilt of my shame in these areas, but empowers me to fight diligently agains... moret these cheap counterfeits and instead find true satisfaction in the unfathomable love and extravagant riches of the Father's grace to me in Christ! less
