review 1: I decided to read this book because I was going through a very rough time in my life with anxiety issues and glimpses of bipolar. My Dad commit suicide when I was younger and I found out in year 2011, it is a concept I have been struggling to deal with for a long time. There was even a point I wanted to do the same thing. I know this seems mad pouring my heart out in a book review but I feel I owe it to the book. I have already read The Secret by Rhonda Byrne which helped me get out of a wheelchair...but it was much harder to apply to my life after that because I did not feel it accommodated well enough to a teenager's life, that was when I stumbled across this and decided I had to read it. This book has honestly improved my life drastically. I am at the age now where I ha... moreve to make the very important decision of what to do with my future, I have the pressures of exams coming up and the pressures of what everyone else thinks I should do. I want to be a performer. The stage feels like my second home, but everyone is telling me that I should do my A levels first because I need a backup plan. This begins to get quite disheartening and I start to believe they are right sometimes. But The Secret has empowered me with the confidence I need to prove them all wrong, not for them, but for myself. Reading this has given me a major confidence boost that I should make my own choices and not bow down to the doubts of other people. Whilst I am still currently suffering with a knee injury, and have a dance competition on the upcoming weekend, I believe that I will still be able to perform to the best of my ability and overcome this knee injury. Whilst other people probably think this is the first stage of me accepting they are right, they couldn't be more wrong, this is the first stage of me proving to myself that I can overcome any obstacle with the power of the secret. Some people around me who are skeptical of these kind of books tell me not to buy anything they try to promote in this book, this book promotes nothing that leads to more money spending. So when people say this to me I passively say "Yeah, okay I won't" and don't put much energy in to focusing on what they are saying, which would completely defy the secret. I just wanted to reveal all these things about myself in a book review because, I want people to know that it really does have a positive impact on your life. You just have to believe in it and practice it. I consider it an art, because there are few people in my life I know who have read this and actually put energy into it, those few people have now achieved something they've dreamed of their whole life...for example my costume designer, an absolutely wonderful woman who just makes you feel amazing to be around. At first sight people would judge her for her crazy choices of clothes, but she doesn't care because she feels herself that she is beautiful, and she is. She has always wanted to move to France, and keep her business running successfully, people told her that wouldn't be possible, but she's made it work, and I'll tell you now her costume designing business is probably more successful than that of an established shop here. So please give this book a chance before you make decisions about it, because you never know the impact it could have on your life if you use it's knowledge how it is intended.
review 2: Amazing book, especially the part where it is not entirely about facts but also including heart-touching stories which add a special element of inspiration. Also the to-do exercises given then and there gives a tremendous pleasure when the results are achieved. The best part i think was when the author told about the power of gratefulness, intuition and our own thoughts. How a single thought would change everything and how we attract only those things we think about! My favorite part of the book was the "Secret Shifter" and i sincerely think that everyone should have at least one handy perfect moment that they could forever relive that which will make them happy. Considering the perfect timing, me being in the last few days of the teenage life, books really do seem to find a way into our life in the time when we least expect them. I thank the author for writing this book, especially to his daughter and i find this book really helpful even when in the depths of despair. So, when i find myself even shifting towards a bad vibe, i simply have to stop, change my thought and all is fine, again! Shhh, now that's a secret ;) less
