Deity was made for the Ultimate Party Wedding

Dimitri and Chris planned the entire wedding themselves, including handmade invitations, programs, centerpieces and event décor for their wedding at Deity near downtown Brooklyn. They did an excellent job planning and decorating a stunning ceremony and an even better party, so we are excited to let them share the story of their wedding day.

Our college buddy, Victor, Dimitri’s mom and sister were the little helpers on the days leading up to the wedding. Our hard work paid off, because the florist who made our arch commented that he admired the work done by the other “florist”. He was shocked when we told him we made them ourselves.

We were most surprised by the overwhelming feeling of love and support on our day. We mentioned in our welcome video that we wanted our guests to “Feel the Love”, but we had no idea we would be on a high of energy for the entire night. From the moment we walked into our ceremony holding hands, the feeling of genuine support, happiness and energy from our closest family and friends engulfed us.

We wanted to make sure that our love and style flowed through the entire event. Our ceremony included poems by multiple gay activists and writers, our songs were from some of our favorite artists, our vows were hand written, the pictures for the table numbers were of us as a couple throughout the years, the game we played at dinner, all the way to the Drag Queen that performed! We think we did a great job of expressing our personalities, energy, and love throughout the event.

From the very beginning, we wanted our wedding day to be intimate but ultimately a party! We asked all of our guests to wear Black Tie Attire and they did not disappoint! Our wedding day was uniquely us. The energy was consistently high throughout the entire evening and we danced the night away!

A favorite memory from the wedding day must be singing Last Dance by Donna Summer at the top of our lungs with our guests! It was literally the last song but every guest refused to let the energy dissipate.

Our crowd likes to party! They love to dance and sing and have a good time! When the event started, our guests could barely contain themselves. Once it was time to get on the dance floor, the whole group was ready. The dancing was only elevated by our entertainment, Drag Queen performer Elizabeth James. The crowd went wild when she came out and performed her routine. Then the rest of the night was spent dancing and singing.
