review 1: An interesting look at the gun, the company, founder and employees during the rise in popularity of this iconic item. I was fascinated by the hinge-maker turned gun-maker and his rise to wealth, by the free (even though inaccurate) publicity which pushed the gun into the limelight and subsequent fame, and by the prowess of Ms. Sharon Dillon with the Glock, which added to the Glock's chosen image. The book is full of interesting tidbits of history (including those of competing gun companies-by association in the field and industry), and interesting characters. One caveat to the recommendation, is that it also includes some of the grittier details like the strip clubs often frequented by company and clients and some language, which some readers may want to skip thr... moreough.
review 2: The odyssey of Glock, the man, the pistol and the company from Austria to the US is well-chronicled here. I own a Glock 22, the .40 cal model, and am planning to get the 9mm Glock 17 or 19 version. This book reinforces what I already know about the best pistol design ever, in my opinion, and shares a lot more details, which a gun nut would appreciate. This story of an inanimate object brought to life by Paul Barrett is nothing short of extraordinary. less

Excellent as it pertains to the firearms industry, it strays a bit as it explores firearm culture.
