review 1: A lot of minor details but not really all that much story in the third book of the series. I think I'm also coming to understand why aspects of the series frustrate me a bit and it's probably more theological than journalistic. We have a group of characters who have crystal clear undisputed physical evidence that God exists but that evidence makes absolutely no difference to how they behave or their outlook on life. It isn't even touched on or pondered, not for a single character and I think that in itself is why I find the book laps depth. The author also continues with over descriptive attempts to try and describe fight scenes which end up word and boring rather then adrenaline pumping. Sometimes fewer words can actually present more information to the reader particularl... morey if those words are carefully chosen. I rated this book three stars but could easily have allocated two and a half. One reason for that is the lack of significant progress in the story. Though it isn't really written in a padded out format I'm pretty sure it could have been written without the need for a fourth (hopefully not a fifth) book to wrap things up.
review 2: Though I have loved this series and have patiently waited for this book to arrive, I did find it a bit hard to get started? The chemistry between Gaby and Rafa was sorely missed - the constant pining for Rafa also did not help. I also started to get a bit confused with the characters and the alliances they were on - distracted a bit from the storyline. However this is still a great read, with dark overtones that accentuate the frailty of the main characters. And that cliff hangin ending - gah! roll on book 4! less
