review 1: The author should really have read "Our Sea of Islands" by Epeli Hauʻofa in order to find new ways to talk about Micronesia besides small, a backwater, and historically insignificant. Or maybe Paul D'Arcy in his "People of the Sea". Though I know he would hate to admit it and in fact he seems to struggle against it in parts, his perspective it very land centered and sometimes pejorative even if unintentional.
