review 1: Philadelphia Lawyer is someone I would probably never know in real life. Reading this book was like peeking into the mind of a person who if I did meet, I would think to myself.. "I just don't get how this guy thinks!" So, even though it's not meant to be, it's very educational.[return][return]Also, very entertaining, lol. Most of the chapters made me grin or laugh at least once.[return][return]If you're planning on reading this and walking around with the book, be prepared to explain what it's about. The cover and title got me a few raised eyebrows. (Which I also found entertaining.)
review 2: As a law student I really wanted to like this book. A lot of the descriptions of law school were accurate, and it was good to hear the negatives about firm life. Th
... moree real world/party animal dichotomy was intriguing at first, but I felt like the stories never really finished. Some of them I was waiting for that big "wow" moment, i.e. Tucker Max crashing a car into a donut shop. Midway through the book all I wanted to do was tell the author to grow up and do the work or get out of the business. That said, while many may disagree with me I though the end of the book was much stronger and more intriguing then the beginning. Sure the beginning had all the debauchery (which tucker max fans will enjoy), but by the end of the book "P.J." wasn't just a drunken asshole coasting on privilege and a quick wit, he had become an actual character. In short, at the beginning I laughed, a little while in I hated it, by the end it really came together. less

Not on par with Tucker Max but funny enough. However it makes me fear for my future as an lawyer.

Very jaded view of the practice of law in the late 90's - the author is a poor Tucker Max wannabe
