review 1: I read this book (Dork Diaries:1), by: Rachel Renee Russell. It is about this girl named Nicki Maxwell and she ended up going to this new school. And in that new school she meets her crush Brandon.But not only does she find a crush there is also an enemy Mackenzie Hollister. Nicki is confused why Mackenzie doesnt like her but I found out that it was because Mackenzie and Nicki both like Brandon. (But Nicki does not know this). Nicki also does not know that Brandon really likes her too. He does not like Mackenzie. As Nicki is still trying to live this new life, she means two other girls besides her that Mackenzie is also rude to their names are Chloe and Zoey.
review 2: Dork Diaries Dork diaries is about a girl named Nikki Maxwell. She just started a new school ... morebecause her dad won her a scholarship to a privet school. There is a girl named Mackenzie and she thinks that she is the queen of the school. She bosses everybody around, makes fun of other people, she’s rich and she has a really cool cell phone. Nikki doesn’t have a phone and she is saving up to get the new I phone. There is this boy named Brandon he is Mackenzie’s and Nikki’s crush, he is also the photographer for the school newspaper. Nikki didn’t think she’d make any friends but she did. She was walking to her table one day and someone from the popular table tripped her and her lunch went everywhere. Brandon seen this and rushed right over to help. He gave her a napkin looked into each other’s eyes and instantly fell in love. It was national library week and Nikki, Chloe, and Zoey were trying to figure out a way for them to get picked to go to NYC for a book signing. Zoey thought they should get tattoos and Chloe agreed. Nikki said that was a bad idea but then she had an idea. She was a pretty good drawer and she said that she could just draw them on and they all that that was a good idea. The whole school found out about the tattoos and everybody wanted one. She did like 16 in one day and after that she was done. Nikki was up all night studying for a test and forgot to get up in the morning and missed the bus. Luckily her dad was just getting ready to leave and she caught him just in time. She had to bring a painting that was really important to her family for the art show. When she was trying to get out of the bug van she had to sit the painting on the ground and her dad ran it over when he left. Mackenzie saw her getting out of the van and started calling her bug girl. She sat at the curb and cried until someone started talking to her. It was Brandon. He brought her inside and her locker said bug girl on it. She decided she didn’t want to go to school the next day so she made fake puke so she could stay home. She decided she would trade schools and when they went to get her stuff out of her locker she had found out she had one the art show. Though she didn’t know how she had quickly found out. Brandon Zoey, and Chloe had taken pictures out the tattoos she had done and put them all together and called the project The Student Body. She decided she didn’t want to move and she stayed at her old school. Nikki is a strong independent person who has a mind of her own. She is a good student who try’s hard. Nikki is kind of an odd ball who isn’t popular and doesn’t have very many friend. They don’t describe Chloe and Zoey all that much but they are only Nikki’s friends. Mackenzie is a rich stuck up brat. She thinks she is the boss of everybody and tells everybody wants to do. Nikki describes Brandon as cute and handsome. He is caring and nice. The book takes place in many different places such as her school. To be more specific it took place in the school library. She was at her house in her living room. She also studied in her bed room. The conflict was Mackenzie. She kept telling Nikki she was going to win the Art contest. Nikki was considering not doing the art contest at on point because of Mackenzie. She was scared of her. The resolution to the conflict was doing the art competition. She used the water painting that took her 150 hours to paint. It got ran over but she was able to use something else. She beat Mackenzie and Mackenzie was mad but oh well. The book was fantastic. I really connected with Nikki in the book because I’m not really all that popular. I don’t have an I Phone. I don’t like school really all that much. If I do it’s only because of my friends. I would recommend this book for 4th grade through 8th grade. It doesn’t have any big words in it that are hard to understand. It seems like that age group could really connect to the book. Plus in 4th grade or somewhere around there we all drop out try’s and some point! less
